X++ an interpreted pure XML language which runs on XP, NT & 2000. Read the Press Release Overview. This may provide a good starting point for better XML data management across disparate systems. I would like to hear other opinions on X++ as I do my own investigation into its merits.

The Pew Internet Group report on broadband usage patterns is a good read. The study suggests that broadband is creating a new category of users, around creation of online content and searching. Four out of ten broadband users have created content for online use and more than half have shared a file.  http://www.pewinternet.org/reports/pdfs/PIP_Broadband_Report.pdf

This seems to point to a trend around content creation and distribution. I would imagine that a new industry will emerge in the form of information brokers and librarians. People who specialize in domain knowledge and collect, collate and distribute the information in their domain for a fee. The hurdle now is creating the business model for this service.
