So, I've decided on the sandbox I will be exploring for web services development exploration. Macromedia's Studio MX Development Environment seems like the ticket. I'll be giving it the 30 day test drive of Cold Fusion, Dreamweaver and Flash. The goal is to establish a core set of development tools and an environment for web services experimentation. The Seybold Group survey indicated that MX was comparable to .NET for web services development and distribution. Having been a Macromedia Developer and an MS Developer in the past, I'll go with Macromedia... for now at least.
