CONVICTED: Danny Masaniai, Arizona State University

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Associated Press reports Arizona State senior defensive tackle Danny Masaniai entered a guilty plea earlier this week to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct with a weapon. He was sentenced to immediately begin 18 months of probation. He must also serve 30 days of jail time that is deferred to begin Dec. 15 and pay a $1,000 fine.  Following the plea, Arizona State suspended Masaniai for the first two games of the season. He was accused of shooting a pistol into air several times during a May 10 melee at a Tempe bar.
