LAWSUIT EXPANDS: Knight Fans v. IU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Associated Press reports lawyers for a group of basketball fans suing Indiana University's trustees over Bob Knight's firing have expanded their lawsuit to accuse the panel of meeting secretly to discuss budget issues.

MOTION DENIED: Tournament Promotors

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Associated Press reports a federal judge said it's too soon to determine whether the NCAA's rules restricting participation in certain nonconference basketball tournaments violate federal antitrust laws. U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus Jr. denied a request by a group of tournament promoters and organizers for a preliminary injunction which would have blocked the NCAA restriction limiting Division I schools to two such tournaments in four years.
