REINSTATED: Billy Edelin, Syracuse University SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Daily Orange reports after spending what was supposed to be his freshman year at Syracuse suspended from the school, basketball player Billy Edelin will be readmitted to SU on Aug. 15. Edelin, a guard from Silver Spring, Md., who retains four years of eligibility, was suspended from SU for one year after two female students accused him of rape and sexual harassment last summer when the three were taking part in the Summer Start program, which gives first-year students the opportunity to take classes before the fall semester. 10:55:32 AM

NCAA PROBE: Fresno State FRESNO, Calif. -- Associated Press reports the NCAA is investigating possible rules violations involving three Fresno State athletic programs, including the men's basketball team formerly coached by Jerry Tarkanian.
