APOLOGY: Tamerick Vanover, San Diego Chargers
SAN DIEGO -- Kansas City Star reports San Diego's Tamerick Vanover is apologizing for his criminal convictions while he was playing in Kansas City. Two years ago, Vanover pleaded guilty to a federal car-theft charge, and he later testified how he financed drug deals that led to a conviction for drug trafficking and a jail term for former teammate Bam Morris. Vanover served four months in confinement himself, spending two months at a prison work camp in Miami and two months of house arrest in Lake City, Fla., in early 2001.

CHARGES DROPPED: Eddie Kennison, Kansas City Chiefs
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Associated Press reports prosecutors have dropped charges against former LSU wide receiver Eddie Kennison, who was arrested in September following a dispute with a nightclub security guard. Defense attorney Nathan Fisher said the only formal charge ever filed against Kennison, who now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, was failure to leave and the district attorney's office dropped that allegation on July 23.
