HELD WITHOUT BAIL: Alonzo Spellman, former NFL

PHILADELPHIA -- Associated Press reports former NFL lineman Alonzo Spellman was ordered held without bail in a federal jail Tuesday after a judge ruled he was too dangerous to be released.

The 31-year-old Spellman is accused of threatening a pilot and flight attendant and harassing passengers during a Delta Air Lines flight from Cincinnati to Philadelphia.

SETTLEMENT: Will Bartholomew, Denver Broncos

GREELEY, Colo. -- Associated Press reports the Denver Broncos waived fullback Will Bartholomew on Tuesday after reaching an injury settlement.

Bartholomew, a rookie free agent, has been unable to practice since July 29 because of a strain to his right thigh. He also faces season-ending surgery on his right knee to correct an injury suffered during his college career at Tennessee.

COLLUSION CHARGES: Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs

NEW YORK -- ESPN.com reports the NFL Players Association, acting on behalf of unsigned first-round draft choices Ryan Sims and Bryant McKinnie,  has filed a formal request for an inquiry into what it feels is collusion by the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings.
