Rumor has it that a major camera company accidentally leaked specs for a new digital SLR to be released soon. The new camera supposedly features a full-frame CCD, and captures 11 megapixels per image. The advantages of a full-frame digicam would be great, as would capturing that many pixels. Question is, how would this affect the major VR building packages? Are QTVRAS, RealViz Stitcher, and the others capable of building a panorama from 11 megapixel images? Would you need 2GB of RAM to build the panorama in less than a week?

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
