NSF to Introduce Virtual Reality Tour of Monticello, from Computer Graphics World.
"The virtual tour was developed by computer graphics researchers from the University of North Carolina and the University of Michigan using a laser scanner and video camera with a rangefinder."
I'm curious if they have developed a new approach to capturing VRs?
Another article from Newswise sheds a bit more light... sounds like an interesting exhibit. Some pictures are included in the NSF web page.

Purpose |
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
