A couple things: it is amazing how much you can zoom; this is not a 360 panorama; there are a number of stitching glitches where a person is cut in half; and I don't know who keeps track of which claim to be the largest panorama is valid.

The largest digital panoramic photo in the world: 2,500 megapixels:

TNO, an organization dedicated to technology research, has a posting of 2.5 Gigapixel image and produced the largest digital panoramic photo in the world.
