The building is infinitely photogenic - even an imposter like myself can capture its curves into something that appears artistic. Attribute it to the structure - every way you look at it there is expression. There is a story.
Even though the loudest credit goes to Frank Gehry, the master architect who came up with the design, it must have taken a special structural engineer to make the structure bend on the command of its master. It must have taken an amazing construction effort to implement the ideas of the designer and the computations of the engineers.
Perhaps it's a testament of your eyes telling you it's a lie but most photos have a difficult time gauging scale. The building is quite big - the brushed steel vaults upward more than 100 feet into the air.
If you walk around from the front entrance, you will find a garden in a small park on the higher levels of the building. There is a tiled fountain in the shape of a flower - you can throw in coins whilst presumably making a wish.
I borrowed a penny from J and made a wish.
I'm looking forward to experiencing a performance in the hall - a great deal of work went into the acoustics. Even if I was in the area, however, something tells me the cost may be prohibitive.
There are more pictures, I'll do my best to put them up.
