Nairobi

This is where I spent my high school years.  You can see our dog Raistlin at the feet of my brother Jonathan.  My sister is doing some funky reggae move by the house.

Nairobi has lots of hedges.  It only just occured to me that I haven't seen a hedge in a while.  Hedges were a dime a dozen in Nairobi; if a person didn't want to bother with a real security system they'd just grow a hedge.

The beige car in the picture is our 1980 Toyota Corolla.  We named her Trisha after an Asian woman that read the news for a network affiliate in San Bernardino, CA.  The little car that could bested urban riots, accidents, fires and soldier checkpoints.  She's alive as far as I know, somewhere in Nairobi.  Probably parked near a hedge.  Next to Trisha is a Peugot 405.  True to its french roots it looked good and didn't last too long.

I thought every day of when I'd leave and now this photo taunts me at work whenever I look up from papers or the computer screen.
