Irish & Celtic Music
If you're as annoyed as I am that NPRs Thistle & Shamrock is not available in any streaming format and that their podcast is a bitterly disappointing set of 3 second clips of the playlist, check out this podcast.
Fiona Ritchie of Thisltle & Shamrock has an excellent ear; I love the show when I happen to be at the right place at the right moment for it, but unfortunately that isn't so often. In the meantime, I'll keep coming up with substitutes.

Visual Understanding
Ever since I learned about Richard Saul Wurman and his conference TED (Technology Entertainment Design), I've wanted to go. A sampling of what you can experience at TED is this presentation by Hans Rosling, a professor of international health at Karolinksa Institutet in Sweden.
Give yourself 15 minutes to understand the world like you never have in a visual sense.
