Weight loss "personal trainers".

According to the September, 2003 issue of Pulse, nutritionists and dieting experts in Houston are providing overweight diabetics with free personal training to shed the extra pounds in hopes of studying the long-term effects of weight loss on their health.

This is part of a National Institutes of Health-sponsored clinical trial that is producing substantial weight loss results among participants at Baylor College of Medicine. Other participants in the 11-year study are receiving long-term diabetes education and counseling at no cost. Apparently, nationwide the candidates for the program are ages 55 to 75, with Type 2 diabetes.
