Most clerks at natural foods stores may not be genuine health care practitioners. But according to a new study out of Canada, many recommend products with no proven benefits and potentially harmful side effects. By Kristen Philipkoski. [Wired News]

The information in this story is typical of my experience in health food stores and at supplement stores in malls. When you buy there, be very aware that the clerks are often untrained. They may be sincere, but they may also be wrong. Use Supplement Watch to check things out before you buy. It's well worth the $14 to be able to read their reviews of specific products. And always talk to your health care provider before starting any supplement.
