Life sure does move fast.

Lucky spent his weekend updating his CV into the format used by Insead.  This took a lot of effort, and a lot of coaxing to get something interesting to say.  I think the hardest part was context: all of the students CVs are published in a book, one page after another.

Given the level of the participants here, you have to be a member of the Justice League to feel as if you belong in the book.  It seems like every other student has climbed Everest, built schools in sub-Saharan Africa, restructured a billion-dollar business, and had a profitable startup on the side.  There is a huge pressure to have a good CV not so much because it will get you a job (who's really going to flip through a book to find someone?) but because you want your classmates to think well of you.

This was my weekend, the vast majority of it.

Fortunately, there were some highlights.  Friday night brought the Latin American Week Party at Chateau Bellefontaine - and do those Latinos know how to party!  There was a group of live drummers and Brazilian dancers, making the main hall seem like a slice of Carnaval.  Everyone was in a good mood, smiles abounded.

Saturday evening, when walking out of the library, I ran into another student who I know, but not so well.  He also didn't have plans, and so we went into town and got a couple drinks.  It was fun to get to know him better - he had served in the Army in Bosnia and had a ton of great stories.  I am glad that it is still possible to meet people and get to know them even as the year seems to accelerate and blur at the edges.

Sunday brought sunshine and a day of climbing in the Fontainebleau Forest.  Last time I went there, I was mastered by one particular route (isn't it always like that?), and I have been thinking about it ever since.  Today I warmed up, walked over to my bête noire, and nailed it on the third try.  There is nothing quite so satisfying as doing something that was impossible a few weeks back.

Now at home, I can't move my arms or legs, but I feel great!
