TIPPING POINT CRIB SHEET: For those of us that only manage to read the first 100 pages of important books, Robert Paterson's weblog has a FANTASTIC overview of the Tipping Point. 12:54:03 PM ![]() |
AUGMENTED MOBLOGGING: Ross Mayfield has some really interesting comments about Augmented Reality in his weblog today. He talks about the Land Warrior program and their use of VR and GIS overlay data. While I'm not sure this fits cleanly into the AR bucket, I've seen some seriously cool contextualized systems development using Muse, who has fused VR, data comms, the net, and web services. This yields a highly contextualized, 3D, multi-user environment that provides navigation to, and between, disparate information systems, web sites, and other apps. Where it does fits the AR model is in its support of flocking, but in this case, within the context of a virtual 3D site. People show up as avatars and can move around and consume the various services that a Muse "site" offers. 12:51:03 PM ![]() |
