Cool. A person I'm working with on one of my projects has published a first novel this year, Avatar Dawn. Looks pretty good.
Nice to see someone who has a good balance of corp-life, home-life, and creative work. Tough to do.

NYT. Safire makes the case that only those nations that sign-off on the Bush invasion of Iraq get access to the $ billions derived by the control of Iraq's oil after the war. One of the unstated goals here is that by glutting the market with Iraqi oil, we will deflate the main source of funding for terrorists. $15 a barrel oil would put Saudi Arabia on the ropes financially and make them less likely to fund terrorists that attack the US and Israel. Jeez, this is the scariest thing I've seen/heard in a while. Sounds more like the formula for WW3 than for fighting terrorism.
