As alerted on last month a challenge was lodged over newzealand.biz (WIPO DBIZ2002-00270). This was in fact a STOP challenge (part of the challenge process around release of names at the outset) by the New Zealand Government.
It seems the STOP was over 'New Zealand' applying for a trade mark on June 29th of last year almost exactly one year before the challenge was filed. The resulting action, transfer of the name to the challenger, looks like a typical flawed UDRP result.
Coverage on Aardvark as well as a comments on the DNSO GA list with an on going thread.
On final note I think it is very amusing that the New Zealand government is NOT eligible to have a .biz name as it requires "bona fide business or commercial use" based on the .biz FAQ.
