[Anti-] War Hero
I haven't read The Pentagon Papers, with which Daniel Ellsberg "set in motion actions that would eventually topple a president and end the Vietnam War." Ellsberg is appearing Nov. 22 at the Miami Book Fair, and I'd like to see him.

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and One Ring for the die-hard Lord of the Rings fan. Won't be on my wish list, but it's cool that it looks just like the ring from the movie -- without the really cool "fire inside" effect, though.

I got a kick out of this line from a Jupiter Research analyst in a CNet story on the all-new version of Opera:
No one told these folks that the desktop browser war has been over for a few years. But it's nice that they don't seem to care.

From Paul's local paper comes an article on open spectrum, which would promote the creation of new types of wireless broadband networks. Advocates include Larry Lessig and Microsoft, which is lobbying Congress on the idea's merits. The new meme is a "spectrum commons."
