Nature published an article (pdf, HTML) last March on how different people are beginning to tinker with the process of peer review. The details vary from one experiment to the next, but the general idea is to make the process more open, enabling access to the traditionally private conversations that surround the evaluation of submissions. In that sense, scientific publishing might be heading the way of weblogs. The change could enhance quality and add value to the work. A must-read if you're getting interested in how peer review might evolve in the upcoming years. See also my hyperlinked summary. What do you think? [] links to this post 11:38:12 PM
