My daughter's recent trip to the hospital

2AM -  My daughter wakes up crying.  I go in to her room to check on her and realize that she has vomited all over herself and her crib

2:30AM - My wife and I have cleaned up my daughter and changed her into new clothes.  We have given her some Tylenol due to her feeling warmer than normal.  My daughter proceeds to vomit again and is terrified.  My wife and I are very concerned about what's going on, I wake up my mother and ask for her any advice she can give.  We are considering going to the emergency room.

2:45AM - My daughter vomits again.  She can't hold anything down including Tylenol or water.  We wrap her up in a blanket and all hop into the car - we're on the way to the emergency room.

3:15AM - My daughter is admitted and examined by a doctor.  Diagnosis is that she has a Rotavirus infection.  She has an IV put into her hand as part of treatment for dehydration, being pumped by saline liquid plastic bags.

4:15AM - My daughter has calmed down and is extremely sleepy.  She has been given anti-vomit medication.  Is occasionally awakened by urge to vomit, but not much left in her to come out.

5:30AM - Vomiting has stopped.  2 bags of saline liquid have been administered.  We move from the emergency room to a room in the children's ward.  The doctor want to keep her under observation for 24 hours.

Most of day uneventful - no vomiting or (expected) diarrhea.  Not much food or liquid being injested orally, so IV is left in.  It appears that my daughter is getting better.

10PM - My daughter has a fever of 101.7 and is so warm that she is sweating profusely.  Her hair is matted down and looks like she was just given a bath.  She is administered Motrin and soon falls asleep for the night

7:30AM - Fever is gone.  My daughter eats a little bit of toast & crackers for breakfast.

10AM - My daughter has the IV removed from her hand.  She feels like her normal self.

1PM - My daughter is discharged.
