Wired (a slightly loopy article that repeats itself -- I hope Wired didn't pay this author by the word). The government's "ethics" hawks attack Stanford's attempts to move ahead biomedical research.
But the council, which officially considers such work to be "cloning for biomedical research," demanded a public apology from Stanford for "obfuscating the nature of such research" and mischaracterizing the council's position.
In my view, the council should offer an apology to Stanford for being grossly negligent in their intellectual rigor: they are on a jihad to label any research they oppose with viscerally repugnant terms. This isn't how science should be managed. [John Robb's Radio Weblog]
