 The world is so wierd right now.

The world is so wierd right now. I think we are moving further away from a global community, but fear not perhaps it is too late. Pulitzer Prize winners try to be like Geraldo. And it looks like Al Qaeda has broken the glass ceiling !?!?!?

Nothing, I am being reminded, is cut and dried. The Arnett thing could have so many explanations. Was he pushing freedom of speech to the limit? Was he seeing the danger of big conglomerates owning the press and flushing it to the forefront? (where was that cartoon, you know "you will write what we tell you to")  He almost achieved a major coup for democracy, (by getting onto Iraqi state-controlled tv) did he not? Was this his way of side-stepping his way onto their controlled airwaves? Wait a minute, the cold war is over. So we are not fighting for democracy. I can't remember.

Another note on the Geraldo topic, someone the other day mentioned a weblog of some guy living in Russia who was intercepting all sort of satellite radio signals, both Iraqi and American and writing about it. Was that just a dream I had? I can't find it.

 CNN Covers Blogs Covering War

Instapundit is on CNN right now talking about blogs and war coverage. The person interviewed before him (BUZZMachine is his weblog) said something interesting: as grid computing systems use a lot of small computers to do a large task, blogs do with ideas, information and intelligence. Maybe I am the last to hear this analogy, this looks like a conference panel on that very topic.

 American Idol - Disco Night

Disco is the theme on American Idol tonight. My favorite so far has been Joshua, sort of the guy version of Kelly Clarkson. He's a country singer, though so I don't know how he will work Disco into his repetoire. I heard Corey got kicked off the show but his picture is still on there. I don't see why they would kick him off if they let Trenyce stay when as Rp pointed out she has a rap sheet too.
