Demo Day goes A-Okay

Giving a demo is never as bad as I anticipate. When people see a few console windows pop up, they are convinced you have written some code, it works, and they are even impressed. It's just the snarky in the back that I hate, with questions like:

Q. "does it work in situation X with the Y config?"
A.  For the first release, only the standard config.
Q. "So have you been keeping a list of the configs it does not accomodate? We will need to know so we can tell customers when NOT to use this."

Why is he at the meeting? Why is he ALWAYS at the meeting?

It Works!

...packed and moved all belongings, moved to new residence,
unpacked week's worth of clothing, left most else in boxes, plugged in pc, monitor, power strips, booted up,
no ide drives?? What do you mean ide drives not installed???
unplugged tower, took off cover, unplugged IDE cables, (everything in place - check), plugged IDE cables back in, turned on pc...
nothing shows up on the monitor. Now the monitor is not working. Profanity begins.
repeat process too many times, give up.

...tell friend about pc woes, turns out friend likes pc troubleshooting, sees this as a "fun challenge"!?
friend arrives with extra pc, diagnostic cards from Fryes, spare screws, cables and even expansion slot cover plates!?
friend starts pc, says "whoa - never seen THIS before" and "this is REALLY strange"
friend shuts pc down, disconnects cables, plugs drives into spare machine, connects cables, boots up, repeats in combination

pc boots up and decides to work, of course IDE drives are installed, you thought they weren't?

good enough! Thanks Ed ;D
