Team Lotto drop Christophe Brandt from the Tour de France following a positive drugs test.

This is the first doping scandal actually in the race this year. But here's the wierd thing - the drug is methadone. This is not a performance enhancing drug, except insofar as it allows heroin addicts to perform as though drug-free, more or less. It certainly doesn't help win cycling races, and is not a chosen drug of anyone except addicts as far as I know.
