I work for a company that does user interface software for the internet, so, I thought I'd try using Radio Userland in a couple of different browsers. The results: Well, rendering in IE and Netscape/Mozilla is perfect. Rendering in Opera 6 isn't quite as good.
Then there is the editing.
When you go to write a story or article, IE has the best looking editor. You can change the font, colors, make it bold or italic, etc. When trying to edit in Opera, you cannot even click in the text editing control. Editing in Netscape 6 or Mozilla? Plain, vanilla text... you'll have to know html markup. I suppose this is alright, but I had hoped that the editing would have been the same, no matter what browser I used.
Finally, after posting to the weblog, in IE, the text control is cleared out and ready for another story. In Netscape, the text is posted to the web, however, the text control still contains the text I just typed in, instead of being cleared out.
Now, I realize that the page uses JavaScript for the control, but I also know that there are ways to get to the DOM (Document Object Model) via JavaScript, and that there should be ways of making the functionality fairly similar between all the different browsers.
That's it for now.
