I've been thinking. A few weeks ago, my bosses wife died, and he had to spend a lot of time out of the office. The company did just fine without his constant presence here. Now, before you start thinking that this is a slam, his absence started me down a path of thought.
If we were just fine without him for a while, then what about the rest of us? None of us is indespensible here at work. Or for that matter, none of us is indespensible in anything that we are involved with except for one place: our families.
If there is any one place where our absence is felt more, it is at home. Weither it is as a father, mother, sister or brother, the only place where we cannot be replaced is at home. The influence that we have on our children and families is the most powerful that we will ever have. In some instances we may be able to a person, but the greatest amount of time and long lasting will be the influence that we have on our families.
Anyway, that is something that I thought of, and thought I'd share.
