I heard about this book titled, The Extravagant Universe: Exploding Stars, Dark Energy, and the Accelerating Cosmos. It sounded like an interesting discussion about some physics stuff like dark matter and dark energy. I don't know if I'd get the book, but I'd certainally like to know a bit more about this then I do.

Here are a couple of articles on HTML.

Here is the first one about why HTML sucks: http://www.boxesandarrows.com/archives/htmls_time_is_over_lets_move_on.php. Clicking on the Discuss links brings up a lot of stuff to read as well.

Here is a rebuttle: http://bitworking.org/news/27

Among the people commenting are people such as John Dowdell from Macromedia. I haven't had time to read the article or many of the comments, but I've printed it just so I can take a look and see what the article has to say.

Here's an interesting word: callipygian. I saw this word in an article about a book from the guy who runs A Word A Day. I've been subscribe to awad since '96. It's a great email list.

I've been doing a bit of perl programming this week. Why? Well, Perl is one of the more ubiquitous cgi languages in the market.

Anyway, on to perl. I've enjoyed getting back into it. While I worked at BYU for University Computing Services back in '96, I did a bit of perl programming, but didn't feel that I became very proficient in it. In addition, there are a number of people with a bias against it, so I've never had a reason to really get into it. Now I have and I must say that I've enjoyed it....for the most part.

I have only one real complaint....It seems really fragile...I've done a number of things and code that was once working, now doesn't...Really frustrating. I'm chalking it up to inexperience on my part.
