Correction

Oh, and I should correct an old posting...

Arts and Letters Daily is back.  In fact they've been back for a while.  A small corner of the web for those of a literate temperment.

Bad Sex in Fiction Awards

I love to read.  I read as much as I can.  I don't know if I had this love of reading before I started reading comic books as a kid or if it came about as a result of reading so many comic books.  It doesn't matter anyway; the end result is the same.

Anyway, because I am a reader, I take a special delight in finding sites and stories on the web related to fiction and letters.  And this has to be one of the more interesting that I've run across in quite some time.

I am reminded of the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest for worst opening sentence.  However, in that contest one has the impression that the authors are trying to write badly.  In the case of the "Bad Sex in Fiction" awards one gets the impression that the authors genuinely believe their fiction to at least serve its purpose; that purpose apparently being to appeal to the pruient interests of certain readers.  However, judging from some of the excerpts one wonders if it even accomplishes that aim.
