Twentieth Annual Indian Song and Dance Competition

This past weekend we attended the Twentieth Annual Indian Song and Dance Competition held at University of Marlyland Baltimore County(UMBC). The force behind this twenty year long tradition is Ustad Hamid Hossain.Ustad Hossain is a faculty member at UMBC. He also gives private lessons in Hindustani classical vocal, tabla and sitar. It is because of Ustadji's efforts that so many people of all age groups have been able to stay connected with the music from the Indian subcontinent.

Ustad Hamid Hossain performed live on Friday evening at the UMBC Fine Arts auditorium to kick off the festival. Accompanying him on tabla was Enayet Hossain, who is considered as one of the finest tabla player in the United States today.

"Twilight of the PC Era?"

Nice follow on discussion around Harvard Business Review "IT does not matter" proclaimation.

As someone who works in software development industry for a living, it is hard to imagine that we have already seen all major software innovations. Indeed it will sad if we have to live with current state of software from here on.
