A few days ago, DC Denison at The Boston Globe wrote of the recent shuttering of the Center for Business Innovation by its corporate patron, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Think tanks come and go, but the passing of the CBI was notable to many of us, because it provided an early, enthusiastic bridge between the world of business and the emerging sciences of complex adaptive systems and networks. In a farewell email to the friends of the CBI, Chris Meyer, its longtime director, wrote:
Today, innovation happens in networks, not Centers. For my part, I will continue to develop network-based approaches to the CBI's mission: "To anticipate and shape the future of business."
