Avoiding Entrepreneurial Death Traps

Torsten Jacobi points to piece on entrepreneurial death traps.  I'm sure that we could all come up with our own lists.  The common theme, however, is that our mental models about our businesses guide our decisions (i.e., the allocations of scarce resources) and, hence, our actions.  Too often, our mental models are based on implicit, and consequently hidden, assumptions.  Without exposing those assumptions to frequent real world testing, we run the risk of veering into an entrepreneurial death trap.  Helping entrepreneurs and investors avoid such traps is the work of my Venture Dynamics Group colleagues.
