I'm going to do a little double duty here. I'll post my normal hey-say and my Friday Five at the same time. Did all of you Southern Californians catch the rocket last night? Amazing, isn't it? R got a great shot of it from a park near his house. Check out that link; it takes you directly to the front page where he posted the picture.

I finally get to see my doctor today about my allergies! He's quite busy and it's taken me a month to get an appointment with him. And of course, I see him when my allergies have somewhat subsided. He should have seen my last week or the week before. I was just aweful.

I've been listening to Rammstein for the past few days. N translated some of the lyrics to "Sonne" and a few other songs. They are, to be blunt, idiotic lol They aren't real "deep" lyrics but there could have been some thought put into them at least. I like their music because a.) it sounds cool (hu-yuk hu-yuk) to sing in German and b.) the actual music being played is awesome. In "Engel," there is a female reciting some lyrics and there's a good whistling sample put in. Perhaps I need to stick with my Björk, Howie Day and Abandoned Pools.

1. Would you say that you're good at keeping in touch with people?
It depends. Not usually. I like to keep in touch with everyone, but I don't seem to do it very well. I haven't completely lost touch with my best friends N and M, but there is definatly a gap between us (not to mention 600 miles).

2. Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why?
I prefer email and meeting in person. Snail mail has become outdated, but I feel handwriting is a lost art. We are no longer judged by our handwriting, but our typing skills lol

3. Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it?
I only use AIM. I have MSN Messenger installed (damn M$) but I want the security patch for XP that let's me uninstall it. I talk to most of the people I know via AIM. Very few from MSN Messenger.

4. Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away?
I don't have a whole lot of close friends. K and D both live here in So Cal. N and M used to live in my area until they moved up to Sacto. There are a few people online that I've developed a close relationship with (e.g. 2+ years).

5. Are you an "out of sight, out of mind" person, or do you believe that "distance makes the heart grow fonder"?
Both of those clichés are lame-o. There is an element to "out of sight, out of mind" but not much of one. If you're close to the person, you're close to them. If you're not close with them, then...whatever.
