I'll have to pack my SX6000 to ship it back to Promise. I got an RMA number from them.
My relation with the SX6000 has been plaggued with problems so far: I just couldn't make it work in my new machine based on a Tyan TigerMPX S2466N-4M. It seems that there is a lot of compatibility problems between these two. I tried all the tricks I could think of, followed all the recommendation of a friend who has one. Therefore I conclude it doesn't function properly. Also it seems it doesn't play well with any SCSI card. I have an Adaptec 29160. My friend made it work with a 3210S. Can't afford this card now. And I do not need it too anyway...

I also had a lot of problems trying to output to tape the video of my wedding for the familly. I spent the whole evening on Monday trying to do it. I tried everything I could but we were not able to output to a VHS tape through the BlueBox of the DV500Plus: render the movie in Pinnacle AVI, DV Playback, defrag the hard disk, play with all the settings possible on Premiere and the VCR. Nothing worked.
I then tried to output to my DV camera hoping to be able to transfer it to a VHS tape later, but that didn't work either. I can generate a file in almost any format I want but can't output to tape from Premiere. I'll try again Wednesday night, maybe I'll be luckier. Meanwhile I'll let the problem jog in my mind.

This web log will hold my thoughts and findings about technology and knowledge management. I hope it will be useful to those who'll read it and will help me get myself better organised.
