I still have a stability problem with my new system. But only when I am using Adobe Premiere 6.0. After every crash of Premiere, WinXP returns me a message saying that my video card caused the problem (a Diamond Viper 770 Ultra). It is very disappointing because this duo was rock solid in my NT4SP6a system (based on a Asus P2B-DS)
I looked into various newsgroups andmessageboardand it seems that a card based on the GeForce4 Ti4200 would be a good replacement for my actual card.
The only question that remain is the following one: I am using the nVidia drivers for my Viper 770 Ultra. NVidia's drivers use an unified architecture, meaning that the same drivers are used on their whole offering of cards. Does it means that if my Viper crashes with these drivers any nVidia card using them will crash on my system. I hope not.
I asked this question on this Pinnacle board.
I am now reading a lot about these cards and should choose a vendor by tomorrow. I'll go downtown in the after-noon and find one.
