That SMMUG Look

Last night's SMMUG (Springfield Macromedia User's Group) meeting went well, stretching into two hours. The Mudhouse was a fine host and Matt had snagged the large "bean" table that gave everyone plenty of room. I arrived about 10 minutes late--we're painting our bathroom, pictures in two days--so I missed some of the intros.

Matt ran the user group for Columbia, MO and wrote an XML-RPC client, so he and I had more in common than I expected. He also knows Brent Simmons, author of NetNewsWire and former Userland employee. We're going to lunch today and trade stories--he's been working with Macromedia product since Director.

As a side note, if you are in a technology field, get out and join an user group. It's a great way to learn how to think differently but stay within your expertise. It's amazing what you can learn from someone with a different perspective.
