Radio 8.1 comes tonight

Radio 8.1 is coming tonight. Make sure Radio is set to pick up root updates and you'll get the changes. Special thanks to Patrick Ritchie, Lawrence Lee and the beta testers on the radio-dev email list for helping us pull this release together.

There's more to come in the next couple of weeks including comment and trackback deletion plus upstreaming improvements.

Auto Accident at SANE Conference Kills One

I just read this via my aggregator:

Auto Accident at SANE Conference Kills One: "Several people have submitted news from SANE 2004 that a car crash involving several Free Software developers has killed one and injured two others. Richard Stallman was in the car earlier but apparently had been dropped off prior to the accident."

(Via Slashdot:.)

In the HTML of the actual page, there's a link under the words "killed one" to the website of the person who died. That somehow struck me as gruesome or inappropriate, as if someone had pointed me to the casket that the body lay in. I don't know that there is a good way to handle things like this. If I was writing the post, the link would have gone to a wikipedia entry instead.

Sharing, not judging.
