Open source (GPL) version of Elmer -- Comment() Now available - open source version 4.0 of Elmer: "Elmer is an open-source computational tool for multi-physics problems. It has been developed in collaboration with Finnish universities, research laboratories and industry." Last year I wrote a few words about Elmer. Pen pals and how the world became a village -- Comment() My column on correspondence by mail vs. by e-mail/irc/chat appeared last week (in Finnish, Kun netti kirjeenvaihtoystävät syrjäytti). I used to have pen-pals when I was young, nowadays the whole world seems to be a village, there is nothing strange in writing to friends in other countries.
