Why is it so that the cheapest things are usually the best? Such as cell phones - the most expensive models are nothing but trouble. (Read my column in Finnish, Osta 39 euron kännykkä.)

Banning iPods - and other devices as well -- Comment()
N.Y. lawmaker hopes to ban iPod use in crosswalks: "State senator's bill would make it illegal to cross the street tuned into portable electronic devices such as MP3 players and BlackBerrys." [CNET News.com - Digital Life] What is interesting here is that the proposal is summarized by the word "iPod", such as "NY bans iPods", while other devices would be affected as well. But, well, iPod seems to be THE icon for this time.
