There has been some discussion in Finland about giving tax cuts for buying a computer or a broadband connection at home. I think this is a stupid idea, and thus wrote a net column suggesting a penalty tax for computers due to the harm they cause (Haittavero tietokoneille, verohelpotuksia tietoturvaan). The size of the tax could depand on the amount of available malware for each computer/operating system. This idea was not so great according to the feedback I received.
