This release has taken a lot longer than I thought it would.

The .NET Passport Manager Source Licensing Program was recently made public:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnpport/html/passptma.asp

This morning, I couldn't stop thinking about the possibility of integrating .NET Passport with WSE. After reading numerous reports about how Microsoft plans to integrate Kerberos with .NET Passport, this idea doesn't seem too far fetched. I mean, there is some crossover; WS-Security supports the notion of binary tokens (i.e. Kerberos tickets).

Update

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/events/netbriefing02/docs/07-24passport.doc

"Passport will be adding support for WS-Security in 2003 so that it can securely interoperate with other systems that support the WS-Security standard."
