An interesting side effect of SOX, HIPAA, and a slew of other compliance requirements is that an organization must know what it is doing. In other words, they need to clearly define their business processes. Once the processes are known, you can apply BPM techniques to fine tune, redesign, or replace faulty processes.

The OpenText software's main goal is content management. Content management, especially email management is an interesting issue. As a formal and even an informal communication channel email provides us a base to define a social interaction network. The social network is an important component of any process management.
