Well, I've officially had it.  I'm moving off of Radio to blogger.  You can read my new blog at http://edificial.blogspot.com/

Once again, there's no guarantee that the blog will stay there...I may move again, just like I have every couple of years since I started this whole web thing.

Radio is a pain in my butt.  For some reason, posts just seem to hang out in the queue and never get posted to the website.  I don't understand it.  I'm trying really hard to figure out what the hell the people over at Userland have been doing all this time with this thing as I have not seen any real improvements in this software.  I'm just glad I didn't spend more than $30 on this thing.  At the time it was the best software out there in my opinion, but it has really outlived its usefulness.

I'm currently evaluating alternatives.

This posting is a community experiment started by Minding the Planet to see how a meme represented by a blog posting spreads across blogspace, physical space and time. It will help to show how ideas travel across blogs in space and time and how blogs are connected. It may also help to show which blogs are most influential in the propagation of memes. The original posting for this experiment is located at: Minding the Planet; results and commentary will appear there in the future.

Please join the test by adding your blog (see instructions, below) and inviting your friends to participate - the more the better. The data from this test will be public and open; others may use it to visualize and study the connectedness of blogspace and the propagation of memes across blogs.

The GUID for this experiment is: as098398298250swg9e98929872525389t9987898tq98wteqtgaq62010920352598gawst (this GUID enables anyone to easily search Google for all results of this experiment). Anyone is free to analyze the data of this experiment. Please publicize your analysis of the data, and/or any comments by adding comments onto the original post at Minding the Planet; Note: it would be interesting to see a geographic map or a temporal animation, as well as a social network map of the propagation of this meme.

I'm getting really sick of Radio.  Between it's lack of features, it's terrible picture-uploading facility, and it's general kludginess, I think I've decided that when this license is up I'll be moseying off to some other blog software.

Did anyone else think that the guy standing next to J Jameson in this Lego Spider-Man video look a little bit like a Lego Mo Rocca from the Daily Show? via [kinman]

Does anyone else find it funny that the same people who preach that abstinence is the only 100% effective method to prevent STDs and pregnancy are typically the same folks who would like to convince you that there is a kind, benevolent God? I find it funny because this kind, benevolent God does things like impregnate virgins to fulfill some aspects of his "master plan." It boggles the mind. If you believe in a supernatural being that has at some point effectively fertilized a virgin then you can no longer believe that abstinence is 100% effective. You might believe it to 99.9999 (ad infinitum)%, but it can NOT be 100% effective. Similarly, you can no longer believe that abstinence is a full-proof measure for protection against STDs. For that matter, it would seem that the concept of an active God would destroy most physical certainties (not spiritual certainties) in the universe.

Bear in mind, I'm not saying anything about my views on these two subjects, but I think it funny that a large portion of the population can walk around with this logical contradiction and not even seek to rectify it. I think at the very least you should move the probabilities of success of abstinence down a little bit if you believe in God.

I don't know if you guys saw this, but Apple's iTunes Music Store has an RSS Feed Generator!  You basically pick all the stuff that you are interested in tracking and then subscribe to the generated feed.

It's pretty cool.  It seems more useful than the amazon feeds that I subscribe to since it notifies of you of new products as opposed to some idiot posting a new feedback comment on the latest best-seller.
