Update:  The problem with categories appears to be fixed.  My preferences were set at the category level and in trying to fix it, I corrupted a local file that set category filtering.  I created a test category to see the internal workings of categories and then identified the problem. I think the test category will be useful whenever stuff like this happens again so I'm going to keep it around.

I have to admit that the more I use Radio the more appreciation I get for what it does behind the scenes.  It's a pretty clean feeling architecture.  I can't tell what it's doing half the time, but when I figure it out, it usually makes sense to my architectural sensibilities.
