Girl Come Undone (what do I call her when referring to her in posts, The Undone Girl? Girl? GCU?)  is a big fan of Flickerstick apparently.  I saw them live at the Metro in Austin almost 2 years ago opening up for Sister Hazel.  My wife convinced me to go to the show.  I was pretty impressed.  They (Flickerstick) sounded good, but I didn't think they had much stage presence, though they might have been having an off night.

I liked their first single, "Beautiful," and I do agree with her assessment to forget the VH1, "Band on the Run" crap cuz it really didn't do the band justice.  I would say that if GCU is into the Flickerstick sound, she might enjoy checking out Tripping Daisy (now deceased) and Polyphonic Spree, also from Dallas.

By the way, if GCU is still reading this, my name is Ed. :)

As for all you other Texas music fans, my wife and I went to go see Middlefinger and SexyFingerChamps at the Axiom in Houston last night.  I'm a huge Middlefinger fan, because I think they are one of the most unique sounding bands on the Houston music scene.  You can check out their sound at mp3.com.  Unfortunately, the recordings don't really do their live performances justice, and you can't hear the incredible cover of the Dead Kennedy's "Holiday in Cambodia".

As for the SexyFingerChamps, they absolutely rocked my world and my wife loved them.  All you Austinites should check them out (and Those Peabodys, too cuz they are another kick ass Austin band) when you get a chance.
