Arley, I don't know if you are interested in stock tips or not...but judging from what you describe as your investment philosophy, you might be interested in Leggett & Platt.  Take that as a suggestion for further research, not a recommendation to buy.  I'd be interested to know what you thought about them.  They've got a strong historical dividend record and a sensible acquisition strategy.  They're probably already on your radar, but if not...

This dog-bark translator looks incredibly stupid...but at the same time strangely appealing.  I think I would be interested in a demo on my dogs.  Especially since I'm a pretty decent judge of their attitudes by this point.  I have a feeling it IS something that will take off if it works even remotely like they're saying it does.

People are always amazed when I tell them this...check to make sure your policies have the "Replacement Cost" endorsement on them and don't just give you "Actual Cash Value" if this is an issue for you.  Make sure your agent can explain both those terms in a way you understand or find a new one.
