AccordionGuy says that he's out to get MC Honky's debut album. After getting sick of "Novocaine for the Soul," the Eels first hit single that got blasted on radio play til my ears bled, I had to take a break from them. However, about 3 years ago, I rediscovered them on the advice of my super high-powered, music producin' cousin and decided that they really are as good as all the hype says they are. For those of you not in-the-know, MC Honky is closely affiliated with the Eels (in the same way that Clark Kent is closely affiliated with Superman).
So, if you've never heard The Eels or MC Honky, go give em a listen. There are plenty of sound files out on their sites (you can pretty much listen to their entire latest albums, respectively). MC Honky even has a really cool animated video for Sonnet #3 (Like a Duck) that will rock your socks off.
August 9th is when they will be playing Austin. I may just have to plan a road trip. Any takers?

I've realized that somewhere along the way this blog just became a listing of links that I found amusing or educational. It is sorely lacking any aspect of "me." I read really well written blogs like AccordionGuy's or GirlComeUndome and see how good writing and sincere personality can mix to make something worth reading on a daily basis. And then I come back and look at alot of my blog entries and realize they just have no personality in them.
I suppose part of the blame should be placed with Radio's news aggregator since it makes it so easy to catalog and post links from other sites. But really, I am the real culprit, sucked in by Radio's alluring illusion of blogginess. I post the news that interests me and then move on. It's quick, it's easy, and at the end of the day it's largely superficial.
Well no more dear readers! From now on you will get more personality in this weblog! More chutzpah! I will be posting more thoughts and revelations. I will be sharing thoughts and ideas. I will try to keep the discussion reasonably intelligent, but I might fail miserably on occasion. Either way, you will get more of me.
