The Great Coding Exodus:  my thoughts on the seeming rise in popularity of code going offshore to India and China.

Ok, for some reason the link didn't upload the first time I posted this...for those who have been trying to understand why I would put up a post about my thoughts on something that actually contained no thoughts, and thinking I'm an idiot for the last 12 hours or so, you may resume normal brain activity now.

So I went searching around for insurance related weblogs and all I could find were these two blogs: Steve Brightbill's and John Ashenhurst's.  Both of these are commentaries on insurance technology and neither of them have proceeded to proclaim anything that I would consider revolutionary.  That's not to say that they are not good guys, I just question the need to read their weblogs every day.  Then again, I've been questioning the need to read my weblog every day.

Does anyone out there know of any good insurance related weblogs, preferably maintained by underwriters or agents?  If there is one dealing with the reinsurance market that would be fairly cool too.

Well, I just signed up to have my phone number transferred to Vonage.  Supposedly I will have an adapter arriving in the mail in the next 3-5 days and then it's full on VoIP baby!

I'll let you folks know how it goes once it gets here.  In the meantime I gotta figure out what to do with my extra $40/month :P

The British are coming!  The British are coming...to my comic book store!

Ok, call me a sucker for a good ad campaign and anything that involves Neil Gaiman, but I can't wait for this mini-series to hit store shelves!  I think I might just head out today to DNA Comics in order to reserve my copy cuz I have a feeling with all these comics movies stirring up interest, this might just sell out.

Police dog dies in hot car TX [Amarillo Globe News] I was appalled when I read the title of this post but upon reading the article it doesn't look like negligence was involved.  Most K-9 officers are extremely protective of their dogs and treat them like a member of their own family.  This was a case of the air conditioning kicking off while the dog was in the car unattended.  The article is worth a read for any pet owner who has to occassionally leave their dog in the car for any amount of time because it tells you several instances where a modern car AC will shut down, putting your dog in danger.  via [Dog News: weird, inspiring dog tales]
