Yawn-contagion correlated with kindness. "Catching" a yawn from someone else is an indicator of empathy.
Those impervious to the infection also struggle to put themselves in other people's shoes, psychological tests showed.

The findings might also explain why schizophrenics, who have particular difficulty in doing this, rarely catch yawns.

I had no idea that schizophrenics don't "catch" yawns.  From now on my new party-game is "Spot the Schizo," in which I go from group to group subtly yawning until I find someone who doesn't yawn with me.  At that point I will slap them on top of the head and scream, "What's wrong with you buddy?  You need therapy!"

Gillmor on VoIP. Dan Gillmor's tackles Internet telephony. His verdict?  Way cool! He does imply that Vonage has some problems (all of this based on reports of one of his friends) but backs off a bit saying that they seem to have many satisfied customers.  I for one don't know why anyone wouldn't use them. Link via [Boing Boing Blog]

P8020227.JPGI think I may be breaking some sort of 'Net law by posting a pic to my Radio! weblog of me in a Blogger T-shirt but I got this shirt from my friend Fikes the other day.  Big ups to him for coming through.  Apparently, these are scarce over at Google.

So now all I need is an iBook, and some Buddy Holly glasses, and I can go park myself down at the local Starbucks and sip lattes with all the other geeks and fit right in.

Radio! needs to make some T-shirts.
